My dear students!

Thanks for a very meaningful discussion here on Blogger! Your opinion is valuable and I agree with a lot of your posts and comments. Please continue reading and discussing this book.

Chapter Four          Your posts are due by April 16

Choose one question and respond to it in a form of a paragraph of minimum 10 complete sentences. Include the list of 5 new words and their meaning.

1. From what you have learned in Chapter 4, how would you describe Tia Dolores' personality? What is she like? Give examples from the chapter.

2. The first picture is of the oven for baking bread. The second picture is Josefina's kitchen. Compare it with the kitchen in your house. What is different? Is there anything similar? How would you personally prefer to cook and bake?

3. Have we learned anything new about Josefina and her older sisters in this chapter? If so, what? Which sister do you like most of all? Least of all? Why? Use examples from the story.

4. This is the end of book one in a series of 6 books. What do you predict will happen in the rest of the story?

Don't forget to include your VOCABULARY!

  1. Josefina has a very old house and things that we don’t use these days. First of all, the ovens are outside and they are like two igloos made by concrete. Also, they are on the floor and very big. Second, the kitchen is too small and also most of the things are on the ground. And we can see that all the material are made of concrete or porcelain. They have bags and blankets made of straw. Also, they use a crouched as a couch. The ovens are outside but the kitchen is inside. The similarity is that the two of them are a dark color like brown.
In my opinion, I’ll personally bake in this oven because I like to discover and try this kind of oven but I will use to cook a normal kitchen because it’s more practical to cook and stand.
